Ursula
Haene-Kannofsky is the creator of the Swiss
Bloom signature style, European floral design combined
with a unique contemporary edge.
Born
and raised in Switzerland, where flower design is regarded
as both an art as well as a skill learned at the University
level, Ursula holds a Master's degree in flower design
and has been in the flower business since 1982.
She
has worked in Vienna, and for exclusive stores all over
Switzerland. To add to her already extensive knowledge
of plants, Ursula has spent many spring planting seasons
working at one of the top nurseries in Zurich. Her passion
for flowers takes her around the world, visiting botanical
gardens, flower stores, and nurseries. Ursula arrived
in the U.S. in 1992 and worked exclusively for a famous
Dutch florist in Pasadena, where she designed and worked
on hundreds of events.
Ursula's
work has been featured in many publications including
the L.A. Times, Flowers & magazine,
Swiss Florist magazine, Austrian Florist
magazine and in the book "Flower Design from East
to West", a compilation of unique designers from
around the world, published by Donau Verlag Germany.
Ursula
has taught flower design in Europe as well as in the
US and recently started "Swiss Bloom Class Room'',
a hands-on workshop where she teaches flower design
basics to small groups such as garden clubs, women's
groups, and children's parties. |
